Project Description
UNDERWATER PALACE ADVENTURE
NORTHERN SYDNEY | PLAYGROUND
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Get ready for an epic transformation! The quiet corners of our school are being reborn as a vibrant underwater palace adventure playground, breathing exciting new life into what was once disconnected timber decking and garden beds. Working with the given space which was no more than 7 meters wide Outhouse design had to look outside the box to come up with a linear playground that would keep kids engaged for years to come.
Diving into a world inspired by Urashima Taro (a tale which holds a special connection to the school), this beloved story is the blueprint for a thrilling, immersive landscape designed for the students. The playground is a sensory-filled journey into the heart of water habitats, encouraging kids to unleash their imagination and form a deep, playful connection with the natural world. Traveling from the swampy crocodile creek, through the waves all the way to the underwater palace the playground encourages students to play outside the box
Every step here is part of a grand adventure! The space will inspire self-expression and endless opportunities for both bold individual quests and collaborative group fun. We believe that igniting their senses through play is the most essential way to build the imaginative, resilient leaders of tomorrow! While keeping a balance between unique and functional playgrounds, Outhousedesign keeps pushing forward to break stereotypes of standard playground design in Sydney.
