2023 – National Gold Award – Residential Design Small Garden
These clients had just purchased their cozy dream home in Sydney’s inner west, but faced a problem. The small back yard was dominated by a raised deck, with limited connection between the lower garden and the house, and minimal privacy from neighbours.
They also wanted to squeeze a spa into their limited space to create a relaxing, private retreat for themselves.
Our design reconnected the indoor living area with the garden by breaking the height difference into manageable platforms, creating pockets of space for seating and the spa. Descending down into the garden sooner allows for more privacy and higher planting embracing the lower seating area.
