Since COVID we all look at how we use space in different ways, and in some cases many of us work from home. Garages are the new studios or creative spaces, and in some homes, what was once a feature such as a swimming pool, isn’t so high on the wish list anymore.

That is the case for this growing family and with parents staying over and the need to work from home, the pool just needs to go. But do you remove the pool, infill the pool or in this case just simply float over the top. The proposed studio will provide a destination point that will be nestled within layered planting. The old deck will be replaced with Accoya timber and receive overhead protection from the elements, with a self-closing vergola system for year-round entertainment, family gatherings, and protection from the elements.

Wide steps will connect the upper and lower garden unless you prefer to take the slide! Complete privacy is provided in the form of a native hedge with scented under planting. Sensory engagement for the children surrounds the play cubby and active play is supported by the open lawn and swing.

This new garden will grow with the family and bring them even closer together in the coming years
