ABOUT THE PROJECT – IN PROGRESS

This inner-city terrace courtyard needed some love, the clients wanted a space where they could relax but would also be the perfect space which flows on from the internal house to entertain guests. The star of this garden is the sculptural moon gate, constructed in the center of the garden separating the garden into two zones.

Once you walk through the moon gate gabion walls have been constructed in the rear garden creating a seat back rest using existing tiles from the courtyard in order to reduce waste during the construction process. The rear of the garden has transformed into a cosy seating nook, complete with a fireplace and cushions to unwind in at the end of the day. The house also has an atrium garden located in the center of the house, adding some additional pots and wall planters link the two spaces and create a unified zone.

Feature japanese maples along with appropriate shrubs and groundcovers line the edges of this garden, not only softening the fence line but creating privacy and vertical interest for the back of the garden.
