ABOUT THE PROJECT

This amazing inner west family home had recently undergone a number of renovations over the years and has played host to many family gatherings, but it’s time for the garden to shine and as part of the rebirth it’s all about the pool.

But rather than taking the traditional road of a standard pool layout, we wanted to take a design path less travelled, so it’s organic all the way with curved pool fencing that intertwines with the native landscape. Oversized step stones that are soft underfoot and broken up by mass scented groundcovers that blur the lines between garden and private gathering spaces tucked away for moment to sit and reflect or to gather as a family around a fire pit on those cold nights staring up at the stars.

The paved area immediate to the house has been extended to allow for more flexibility, better access around the pool table and a sizeable dining area for family gatherings. The feature lawn is defined with low maintenance edge and mass seasonal flowering for year-round interest, whilst deciduous trees create privacy from the neighbours.

All in all, this garden is ready to take on the next challenge this extensive family can throw at it .
