Project Description
HYGGE LIVING
Rose Street, Annandale | Backyard
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This small inner-west garden needed a refresh, the client wanted a ‘hygge’ style garden which allowed us to design cosy, intimate spaces for them to enjoy. The clients also own a very large dog, which the team had to keep in mind when designing this space.
This led to us designing a custom seat featuring a large bed for their dog to lay down comfortably. The seat also features a nook for fire wood storage not only allowing for easy access but saving space in this small garden.
The overhead structure is a key aspect of this design, the clients wanted to make sure they had adequate protection from the rain. We had to ensure we could fulfil this idea but not make the space feel enclosed. Therefore we added 3 sky lights in the structure to let adequate light in and moveable louvers were placed on the side for a hygge feeling.

The garden has completely transformed, for a tiny garden in the inner-west it boasts of 2 seats, deck and undercover zone, designated pathway and grass zone. All these features make this garden a show stopper.
