Melanie Gibbons the representative for Holsworthy attended the opening of our inclusive playground in Liverpool, commenting “Recently I was honored to be at the official opening of the Variety Livvi’s Place Liverpool’s first inclusive playground. Livvi’s Place is located at Lieutenant Cantello Reserve in Hammondville, and it was great to see so many local families and children at the ribbon cutting ceremony earlier this month. Having this space in our local community means that families with children who have additional needs can come to a playground and feel safe and comfortable. They can just have fun. Children of all ages and abilities are able to enjoy the space, and it gives them the opportunity to build connections with others. Livvi’s Place has some Australian-first equipment and attractions, such as an inclusive seesaw, a custom built embankment slide and an inclusive exit. There is also a custom built tower with an eight-meter slide, a pod swing and an inclusive carousel and trampolines. My kids have given it the thumbs up, and I know many others in our community have. It was highly anticipated, and it is great to see it open for everyone in our community to enjoy”.
