OUTHOUSE recently hosted a training day for staff at long-standing client RSPCA, enabling them to take ownership of the new landscape constructed at one of their major Sydney sites and help it to thrive.

Gardening and horticultural training is part of a new set of services we are offering to empower people to engage in their gardens with sufficient knowledge and skill. We believe that when people are armed with a little bit of knowledge, gardening can become an enjoyable, therapeutic, hobby-like activity for so many, instead of being a chore – or even, worse, anxiety-inducing.

We combined our training at the RSPCA with a seasonal maintenance calendar, which catalogues the plants on site and details their maintenance requirements on a seasonal basis. The training session detailed how the calendars can be used to plan ahead, and then went into more detail on the current best practices for gardening tasks like planting, pruning, watering, and much more. Feedback was good, and staff said they felt more prepared to either help maintain the garden or to direct external contractors that might be brought in, with a trained eye.

If you have a garden that you want to get more out of, we can help! OUTHOUSE can provide training for private clients as well as commercial teams. Even a one-hour training session can be enough to answer your questions about your garden, and give you enough knowledge to enjoy a bit of gardening! Get in touch here to find out more.
