Project Description
LUXURIANT HIDEAWAY – IN PROGRESS
Eastern Suburbs, Sydney | Residential
ABOUT THE PROJECT
What do you do when you inherit a garden that has been taken over by life size concrete basketball court, when you don’t play basketball?
Essentially you treat it like a roof garden! As it is located on a slab, removing all of this concrete from a sloping site is both time consuming, costly and not great for landfill. So the simple, but well considered solution is a combination of custom made lightweight planters made from corten and copper. Each one is a different height and placed on an angle.
The raised structures are complemented by natural timber decking and then infused with seasonal deciduous trees and sensory architectural planting combinations. An organic private seating getaway is clad with matching timber, creating a seamless visual connection and adorned with tailored outdoor fabrics. The focal point water feature cools the space on the hot summer days, whilst creating evening interest from above.
All in all this garden draws your attention from the above balconies and creates a private green getaway that draws you in.
