OUTHOUSE design -

In 2006, Steve Warner established OUTHOUSE Design as a fresh, customer focused landscape design and horticulture consultancy. The focus for Steve and the team is you, the client, this is your outdoor space or garden and our role is to listen to your needs and inspire you with our ideas.

Since then we have delivered a broad range of projects from innovative, award winning residential gardens to extensive masterplaning of community spaces.  The key strength of our team is our drive to deliver sustainable places for people to live, work and enjoy. We love what we do, and really enjoy to share the creative process with our clients to come up with a design that we are both proud of.

We are passionate about creating the 'outdoor living experience' and we are grateful for the trust that our clients have in us. We appreciate that the planning involved in creating a garden is becoming more intense, but seeing the end result, months or years later, makes it all worth while.

We love what we do and our clients keep us inspired.

Diploma Of Landscape Design and Horticulture
Diploma Landscape Construction

Prior to establishing Outhouse Design, Steve worked for a number of years as a Landscape Design Officer for two major councils. Whilst in this role, Steve was responsible for the design, documentation and construction supervision of a number of Open Space projects. These projects varied in size from the rejuvenation works of ‘pocket parks’ to Masterplanning of Regional Reserves, and design of outstanding Children’s play spaces.

Steve was responsible for the direction and management of a number of outsourced projects working with Landscape Architectural consultancies, Playground Designers and Landscape Construction companies. These opportunities provided insight into the vast number of factors which ensure a successful project including, supplier selection, Community Consultation, budget planning, materials selection and contingency planning. Steve has also undergone training by ‘Kidsafe’ and ‘Safer by Design’.

Steve has designed and consulted on a large number of residential projects which include, planting plans, construction details and plans for DA approval. His background in local government has made interaction with these authorities smoother for clients, and certainly provides the knowledge required for a successful outcome. Style and a rich understanding of “design and horticulture” allow for a creative use of space and ensure that the designs are unique, contemporary and exciting. This was evidenced in 2010 by being awarded the prestigious Best Residential Design Award by the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers.
